Transgender Awareness and Rights Seminar was held in Haripur

A significant meeting regarding the Transgender Awareness and Rights Seminar was held in Haripur, attended by DSP City Saeed Yadoon, seminar organizer Shahid Akhtar Awan, Chairperson of the Transgender Association Saba Gul, and President Haripur Saima Shoukat.

On this occasion, Saba Gul assured that no illegal or inappropriate activities carried out in the name of the transgender community would be supported. She emphasized that the community aims to play a positive role within the framework of law and social values.

Saba Gul expressed her satisfaction that the issue of entry registration faced by the transgender community in District Haripur was resolved through mutual table talk and understanding. She thanked District Police Officer Shafiullah Gandapur, DSP City Saeed Yadoon, and all concerned officers for understanding the problems of this marginalized community and taking positive steps toward their resolution.

DSP City Saeed Yadoon stated that the transgender community is an important part of society and that the law is equal for everyone. He said Haripur Police will continue to provide full support for the protection, dignity, and legitimate rights of the transgender community. He further added that discrimination against any citizen will not be tolerated and all matters will be resolved according to the law.

He also highlighted that creating awareness about transgender rights is the need of the hour in order to eliminate hatred, prejudice, and misconceptions from society.

Meanwhile, Shahid Akhtar Awan thanked District Police Officer Shafiullah Gandapur, DSP City Saeed Yadoon, and all police officers for their cooperation and support. He stated that the purpose of the Transgender Awareness and Rights Seminar is to promote awareness in society and help the transgender community gain respect and dignity.

Shahid Akhtar Awan further said that one of the major reasons behind social issues is that transgender individuals are often rejected by their own parents, siblings, relatives, and neighbors, leaving them isolated and dependent on strangers. As a result, they are forced to live according to the environment and circumstances they encounter.

He emphasized that if society provides transgender individuals with respect, education, acceptance, and opportunities, they can become productive and honorable members of society. The Transgender Awareness and Rights Seminar is an important effort toward promoting harmony, understanding, and equal rights in society.
