An important meeting regarding the Transgender Awareness and Rights Seminar was held in Haripur with newly appointed Assistant Commissioner Haripur Noor Nawaz Khan. The meeting was attended by seminar organizer Shahid Akhtar Awan, Chairperson of the Transgender Association Saba Gul, and President Haripur Saima Shoukat.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the issues faced by the transgender community, including basic rights, registration matters, and social awareness. On this occasion, Saba Gul assured that no illegal or unethical activities carried out in the name of the transgender community would be supported. She emphasized that the community aims to play a positive and constructive role within the framework of law and social values.
Saba Gul stated that the issues faced by the transgender community in District Haripur, including entry registration matters, were seriously addressed by the district administration, and positive steps were taken through mutual consultation to resolve them. She expressed gratitude to newly appointed Assistant Commissioner Noor Nawaz Khan and the district administration for their cooperation and understanding.
Assistant Commissioner Haripur Noor Nawaz Khan stated that the transgender community is an important part of society and deserves equal respect, protection, and rights. He said that the district administration believes in equal treatment for every citizen and that discrimination against anyone would not be tolerated.
He further stated that creating awareness regarding the transgender community is the need of the hour in order to eliminate misconceptions, hatred, and prejudice from society.
On this occasion, Shahid Akhtar Awan thanked newly appointed Assistant Commissioner Haripur Noor Nawaz Khan and the district administration for their positive role and cooperation. He said that the purpose of the Transgender Awareness and Rights Seminar is to create awareness in society and help the transgender community achieve dignity and respect.
Shahid Akhtar Awan further stated that one of the major reasons behind social issues is that transgender individuals are often rejected by their own parents, siblings, relatives, and neighbors, forcing them to live away from their families. When a person is deprived of love, guidance, and support from family and society, they are compelled to live according to the environment and circumstances around them.
He emphasized that if society provides transgender individuals with respect, education, acceptance, and equal opportunities, they can become productive, respectable, and successful members of society. The Transgender Awareness and Rights Seminar is an important effort to promote positivity, tolerance, and social harmony in society.
