Salam Iqbal event organized by Gawah Advertisement in the hall of Haripur Press Club to honor and remember Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, a revolutionary poet and philosopher who suggested the idea of a separate state for Muslims in the subcontinent.
Major Highlights of the Ceremony or Event:
On the occasion of Iqbal Day, November 9, 2023, a beautiful ceremony called “Salaam Iqbal” was held at Haripur Press Club under the sponsorship of SMT Private Limited. The chief organizer of this beautiful event was Mr. Shahid Akhtar Awan, CEO of Gawah Advertising. The Salam Iqbal program was attended by eminent personalities from Haripur, like the journalist community, poets, literary, academic, and social workers, and women and gentlemen from different walks of life.

The Salam Iqbal ceremony was officially started with the recitation of the Holy Quran, and then different Sana Khawan and Naat Khawan offered devotions. After that, the national anthem was read, and the foreword was presented by the well-known journalist and media consultant Shahzad Ahmed. The distinguished guests who participated in the ceremony expressed their views, and the famous book of the author, M.A. Shahid Ali, was distributed during the ceremony. At the ending site, a cake was cut in celebration of the birth of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal in this beautiful ceremony. The Salam Iqbal program was included in live broadcasts by various channels, while extensive media coverage was also done. In the end, special thanks were given to all the guests. Gawah Advertising Company has been celebrating all national days in Haripur with its support for a long time. SMT participated and made a strong representation on behalf of its NGO.
Biography of Allama Muhammad Iqbal:
Allama Muhammad Iqbal (a South Asian Muslim), often referred to as Mufakkir-e-Pakistan (the thinker of Pakistan) and Shair-e-Mashriq (the poet of the East), was a renowned philosopher, poet, and politician in British India. He played a major role in inspiring the idea of an independent Muslim state, which eventually led to the creation of Pakistan. In his idea, great efforts were put in by Quaid e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He thought Muslims should get Western education along with religious education, as both play a pivotal role in building a successful society. Birth and family:
Iqbal was born on November 9, 1877, in Sialkot, which is now in Pakistan. He belonged to a Kashmiri family and received his early education in Sialkot.
Early Life and Education of Allama Muhammad Iqbal:
Allama Iqbal was raised in Sialkot and completed his B.A. and M.A. at the Government College Lahore.
Education from Abroad:
Iqbal pursued higher education in Europe in 1905. He obtained his degrees from Cambridge University and the University of Munich. He earned a Ph.D. degree in philosophy and developed a deep understanding of Western philosophy, literature, and political thought, as he was a strong exponent of the political and spiritual revival of Islamic civilization across the world.
Marriages:
Iqbal married four times under different circumstances. His first marriage was in 1895, when he was 18 years old, with Karim Bibi. They had two children: a daughter, Miraj Begum, and a son, Aftab Iqbal. His second marriage was with the niece of Hakim Noor-ud-Din. Iqbal’s third marriage was with Mukhtar Begum. Later, Iqbal married Sardar Begum, and they became the parents of a son, Javed Iqbal.

Poetry:

Tarana’s by Allama Iqbal:
Iqbal composed the famous poem “Tarana-e-Milli” (Anthem of the Community), emphasizing the unity of the Muslim ummah and calling for a revival of Islamic values. He also wrote Trana-e-Hindi (The Song of India) during his studies.
Bang-e-Dra and Bal-e-Jibril:
His poetic collections, “Bang-e-Dara” and “Bal-e-Jibril,” contain verses that reflect his vision for a self-reliant, united Muslim state.
